An extensive natural range in the Eastern US is evidence of its tough, drought and cold tolerant nature and adaptability. Leaves are coarse and grey/green in summer and become yellowish in the fall. The small yellow to purple fruit is edible but usually eaten by wildlife. Grows from 40’ to 60’ tall and almost as wide.
