Acer palmatum 'Koto No Ito'

In the linearilobum group, its finely divided leaves, are so narrow, its Japanese name means harp strings. Old wood produces leaves with the narrowest blades while new buds produce leaves with broader blades. It's a small tree, reaching about 6' in ten years. In a breeze the overall effect is of waving bamboo.
